Description Our client is a foundation based in Menlo Park, CA dedicated to supporting initiatives in education, environmental conservation, global development, population studies, performing arts, and philanthropy.They provide grants to nonprofit organizations and are committed to addressing complex social and environmental challenges through strategic philanthropy.The organization is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive part time Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team for a 6 (six) month contract term with a possibility to convert to permanent employee.Role requires a strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, particularly in accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in internal controls, adhere meticulously to procedures to mitigate risks, and possess exceptional client-facing skills, particularly in managing grants and programs. Working international business hours AND Fluency in French is a requirement as it involves conducting international partner client calls.Responsibilities
Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Conduct international partner client calls in French to validate financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
Confirm wire transfer validations to ensure accuracy and security of transactions.
Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounts payable procedures, which are currently manual. Goal is to streamline, automate, and enhance efficiency.
Maintain strong internal controls over accounts payable processes to safeguard organizational assets.
Collaborate effectively with internal departments and stakeholders to support grant and programmatic funding processes.
Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and partners, including processing wire transfers and international payments.
Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals.
Provide high-quality support to internal stakeholders, responding promptly to inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Work International business hours
2-4 years of experience in basic accounting functions, with a focus on accounts payable.
Strong knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements.
Fluent in French, both written and verbal, with the ability to conduct client calls confidently.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, with a client-centric approach.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining accuracy.
Proven ability to work well with internal departments and stakeholders.
Software Proficiency
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Working Conditions:
Part-time working 20-24 hours per week international business hours.
Remote if not near office based in Menlo Park. If near office hybrid role.
