Starting salary at $26.11/hour ($54,494/year), plus a competitive total compensation package, and an additional $1.50/hour fluent bilingual premium.
The Home Care Support Assistant is part of the County of Sonoma’s In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority and is responsible for assisting clients in interviewing and finding an IHSS provider who can best meet their service needs, which may include house cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and assistance with personal care and hygiene. Additional responsibilities include:
Entering and updating registry database records
Performing home visits to IHSS clients who require assistance with the process of hiring a new caregiver
Assembling informational packets and mailings
Making monthly phone calls to the registry of caregivers to update their availability
Assisting with set-up, check in, and paperwork distribution/collection for group meetings
Delivering personal protective equipment (PPE) to IHSS providers and clients as needed
The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience providing in-home support services to a diverse cultural and socioeconomic population, including persons with disabilities and the elderly
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and organization skills
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
