Part-time Fine Art and Education Coordinator

Reports to:Executive Director

Employment status:Part-time, non-exempt. $23 hr (24 hrs per week)

The Arts and Education Coordinator is a permanent part-time position at the Mendocino Art Center and is subject to the guidelines and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook. Ideal Candidates should be competent in Google Suites, have great communication skills and able to lift 50 lbs, Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

-Solicits applications for workshop instructors and manages application portals.

-Fields questions about workshops from instructors and students.

-Reviews and approves applications for potential instructors. May convene a panel of other MAC staff to help decide which applications to approve.

-Serves as the point person for instructors coming to teach a workshop.

-Coordinates with prospective instructors to finalize workshop details, such as compensation, tuition, dates, housing requirements, class size, studio to be used, etc.

-Drafts and sends instructor contracts via Docusign.

-Provides Registrar with workshop details to post to the website.

-Drafts and sends welcome letters to workshop participants.

-Works with the Lodging Coordinator to book rooms for instructors as needed.

-Works with Registrar to determine if a workshop will run or be cancelled, based on registration numbers present at registration deadline.

-Works to set up and break down studios for workshops and provide necessary materials for workshops, such as easels, tables etc. (This often happens surrounding weekends).

-Verifies the amount an instructor should be paid after a workshop runs, and sends a request for payment to the Accountant.

-Sends promotional materials about workshops to Marketing Coordinator and/or outside partners to promote workshops.

-Works with the Arts and Education team to develop strategies for new exhibits connected to instructors and art classes.

-Works with instructors to provide class images and descriptions to Registrar and Marketing for use promoting classes.

-Works with the Arts and Education team on development and fundraising initiatives connected to education.

-Works with the Arts and Education team to develop and initiate educational programs.

-Completes and adheres to Anti-Racist and Non-Violent Communication models.

-Attends meetings as required by the Executive Director.

-Performs other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
