Accounting Specialist for Indian Tribe
Are you detail-oriented and passionate about building a strong financial foundation? Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Specialist, supporting the recently hired Fiscal Manager in helping to fully develop an accounting department for our Indian Tribe in Hopland, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing day-to-day financial operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll.
Experience in government or fund accounting is highly desirable.
Maintain accurate records for grant fund accounting and financial compliance.
Prepare financial reports and support external independent audits.
Provide support for petty cash management and monthly reconciliations.
Collaborate closely with the Fiscal Manager and contribute to the development of efficient processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role.
Familiarity with grant fund accounting and payroll systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Commitment to fostering excellent customer service and teamwork.
