In thisrole, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, data product teams, system reliabilityengineers, and software developers to create and maintain high-quality documentation thatsupports our data platform's success. You will play a key role in developing both engineering-focused content covering policies, best practices, and procedures, and user-centered materialsthat enhance usability, drive user adoption, and support our team's growth in delivering dataproducts and solutions. You will help us to organize and purge documentation in a methodicaland efficient manner leveraging tools such as Confluence and other doc repository solutions. Develop comprehensive documentation that adheres to organizational standards,ensuring clarity and accuracy for a wide range of users. Gain a deep understanding of data products, services, and technical infrastructure,translating complex information into accessible, user-friendly content. Create engaging content that meets the needs of both technical and non-technicalaudiences, enabling user success through clear guidance. Build and maintain a detailed repository of reference materials, including research notes,usability studies, and design specifications. Assess current content for quality and effectiveness, proposing and implementinginnovative methods for continuous improvement.Responsibilities Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, product managers, and UX teamsto gather information and understand project requirements. Research, outline, write, and edit various types of documentation, such as proceduremanuals, API developer guides, configuration guides, in-platform instructions, andintegration guides for team members, partner teams and end users Develop and maintain information architecture templates that support easy updates anddata migration, adhering to organizational and legal standards. Evaluate, organize, and update existing documentation repositories, working withdevelopment leads to establish best practices for content management and storage. Create alternate formats (e.g., video demos, guided tours) for documentation tomaximize usability and engagement. Incorporate feedback from user studies and team insights to refine content, ensuring aconsistent voice across all documentation. Provide editing support, ensuring fluency and accuracy in all training and technicalcontent, and offering constructive feedback to maintain quality.Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience, with a proven ability to learn andcommunicate complex subject matter effectively. Strong written communication skills and an excellent eye for detail. Experience collaborating with engineering teams to enhance user experience throughcontent and visual aids. Proficiency in content management systems, XML, or other documentation tools, as wellas experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks. Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experiencecreating technical documentation for different audience levels, from end-users to systemadministrators. Ability to tailor documentation based on the audiencePreferred Skills and Qualifications Previous experience in data, software development, or a related technical field. Professional certification, such as from the Society for Technical Communication. Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Intercom, Confluence, JIRA, Git & GitHub, Wiki,CMS or similar tools. Experience in creating client aids, such as online demos, video guides, and interactivetooltips.
