Job Description:
Are you a skilled tailor, seamstress, or fashion student looking for a flexible job opportunity? We are seeking talented individuals to provide alterations services to clients. You’ll have the flexibility to complete most of your work from your own space, but you’ll also need to meet with clients at their homes or offices for fittings and consultations. This role offers a great balance of independence and customer interaction, perfect for experienced professionals or fashion students wanting to grow their skills while maintaining control over their schedules.
What We Offer:
- Flexible Work Schedule: Choose your own hours and work at your convenience, making it ideal for those balancing other commitments or seeking part-time or full-time work. You can work as much or as little as you like, depending on your availability and client demand.
- Hands-On Experience: Whether you're an experienced seamstress or a fashion student, this role allows you to apply and refine your skills in a professional setting.
- Independent Work Environment: You will work directly with clients, providing personalized alterations without the need for a physical storefront.
- Part-Time or Full-Time: Work as much or as little as you want, depending on your availability and client demand.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced Seamstresses/Tailors: If you have previous experience in garment alterations and tailoring, we want to hear from you!
- Fashion Students: This is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience while studying fashion or garment construction.
- People Skills: You enjoy working with clients and have a professional, friendly demeanor.
- Own Transportation: You must be able to travel to clients' homes to perform alterations.
- Basic Sewing Tools: You should have your own sewing tools, including a sewing machine, needles, thread, measuring tape, scissors, and any other tools necessary for common alterations.
Compensation:
- Competitive Pay: Tailors and seamstresses will earn a percentage of each completed job, with rates based on the type and complexity of alterations.
- Travel Fee: A travel fee is charged for each appointment, with subcontractors keeping 75% of this fee in addition to their job earnings.
- Flexible Scheduling: You control your work hours, allowing you to take on as many or as few jobs as you like.
Responsibilities:
- Perform alterations and adjustments to clothing, including hemming, taking in seams, and other custom alterations.
- Conduct fittings with clients to ensure proper tailoring.
- Manage your schedule and appointments with clients.

Please send your resume, a brief description of your experience, and your availability. We encourage applicants to include examples of previous work, if available.
