MDSS provides the services of General Contracting, Design-Build Engineering, Installation of Hygienic Process and Industrial Equipment and Piping systems. We are a team-oriented company committed to problem solving and project planning to meet our customers’ objectives and schedules.
About the Role:
MDSS is looking for a Field Superintendent, to join our team based in Downey, CA.
The Field Superintendent will work with customers to install new systems, upgrade existing systems, plan and direct job activities of field installation crews. This role will require the candidate to build skills and experience within our specialty piping business.
Primary tasks:
Lead field foreman and crews. Manage assigned projects, job tasks and schedules.
Work alongside of and coordinate with our project managers and engineers, to provide customer solutions.
Work with our field crews to provide assignments, direction, support and training. Assure quality standards are maintained, and fulfill required documentation of work.
The ability to: “make a plan”, “identify and prioritize critical tasks” are what we are looking for.
Field work and travel will be primarily based in Southern California and occasionally throughout California.
Wage: Base Range: $50 to $58 hourly.

What we expect:
Learn our Specialties in serving the Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage Industries.
Lead and manage installation projects, supported by project managers, engineers and field crews.
Develop work plans, project schedules, and set job priorities.
Follow directions well, provide detailed project planning and job assignments for work crews.
Cooperate with other managers to learn our specialty specifics.
Adhere to Safety guidelines, understand good practice and PPE requirements.
Work a combination of days and weekends as needed to complete assigned work. Overtime when required to meet project deadlines.
Take ownership of your projects, take pride in your work.
You have: (preferred)
Experience in managing field installation projects and directing field work crews.
Process piping layout, fitting, detailing skills.
Experience in high purity, TIG, orbital, all purged welding.
Experience in performing process piping jobs and projects.
Ability to read plans, drawings and P&ID’s. Isometric skills.
Knowledge of schedules, documentation, validation.
BIM and modeling skills.
