We are an established Low Voltage company seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. Must have interest in construction and installation, upgrading and troubleshooting for any of the following services:
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Responsibilities:
Install and program new fire alarm systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems
Identify risk to customers and provide effective solutions
Conduct routine preventive maintenance
Monitor inventory of service parts
Test all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure performance of system
Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times
Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Service & Installation Manager on inspections, project delays, requirements and general status of jobs
Responsible for training entry level employees on Company procedures, systems inspection and installation techniques
All work performed to NFPA and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practiced
Works with Project Manager, Service & Installation Manager, Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (ensure that work is complete so it can be billed in full)
Wiring and installing new construction fire alarm wiring, device installation and fire stopping
Required Skills:
Previous experience in fire alarm installation, maintenance or other related fields
Familiar with hand tools and power tools
Ability to handle physical workload
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail
Able to pass criminal background check and drug screening
Current and valid drivers license
Relivable transportation cable of transporting 6 foot ladder and personal tools
Customer Service
Read manual, blueprints, schematics and prepare how to install and program systems
Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Be fluent in English with great speaking, math, and writing skills.
Own hand tools including ohm and video meter, video test monitor, battery tester, and Ethernet jack tester
Safely lift 75 lbs., transport, and climb ladders including extension ladders and be trained in their safe use
Comfortable in the construction environment, working in high-pressure, tight deadline jobs
Crawl in attics or crawl spaces
Have cell phone and email address
Have reliable transportation and a clean driving history
Pass a written and practical skills test
Work independently, accurately, and quickly
Be neat, clean, professional, and have excellent customer relationship skills
