We are seeking technicians that provide superior maintenance and repairs on our equipment. We care about our technician’s potential for growth and skill enhancement. Our RENTAL YARD operation is looking for EXPERIENCED TRUCK DIESEL CHASSIS AND TRAILER MECHANICS. Successful candidates will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing medium duty diesel trucks and trailers, with various types of hydraulic lifting booms and power operated cable winching equipment. We're looking for highly skilled, well-experienced, organized professionals with their own complete roll-away tool cabinet and portable tool cart, people that take pride in their work and can perform various duties as required throughout the day and work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose trucks for immediate repairs, such as distressed diesel engines and burned-out clutches. Circuit test truck equipment electrical, hydraulic and air systems based on observational and mechanical bench testing as well as information provided from operating and proof testing the equipment

Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on trucks and trailer equipment including batteries, lube oil and filter changes, and be able to inspect brakes, and identify engine and transmission leaks

Highly desirable is the ability to read and understand OPERATOR MANUALS on various well known utility equipment manufacturers such as ALTEC, VERSALIFT, AND TEREX cranes. Previous experience in heavy duty hydraulic equipment of any kind very desirable, such as FARM EQUIPMENT, EXCAVATORS, SKID STEERS, BULLDOZERS and SKIPLOADERS. WILL TRAIN A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE.

Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, electrical, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Be able to identify and determine parts required for repair on disassembled components on a truck chassis, and communicate clearly to the Parts Dept for ordering required parts

Maintain neat and tidy work area appearance and always observe safety procedures

Be able to work independently or in a group setting to accomplish repairs requested

Be able to multi-task and switch jobs when requested or assigned by supervisor

Must be able to arrive on time each day, allowing for freeway traffic and weather conditions, and provide own transportation

Skills:

Good working mechanical knowledge and communication skills

Practical experience as a full-service EXPERIENCED TRUCK DIESEL CHASSIS AND TRAILER MECHANIC or equivalent

Know how to bench test and diagnose various truck equipment components-will train to suit

Should have own roll-away tool cabinet and portable tool cart required to conduct all types of truck hydraulic equipment repairs

Be a self-starter and continued excellent daily attendance is a must

Commitment to customer service and attention to detail

Must be able to R & R and re-assemble truck hydraulic equipment such as pumps, motors, power-takeoffs and hydraulic cylinders with minimum supervision

Successful candidate will be properly trained by highly skilled personnel to efficiently handle troubleshooting assignments.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years EXPERIENCED TRUCK DIESEL CHASSIS AND TRAILER MECHANIC experience

Must have own complete set of mechanic’s tools

Must have own automobile transportation and current valid driver’s license
