INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS APPLICATIONS TEAM LEAD - LONG BEACH

Sierra Cybernetics is seeking an experienced Business Applications Team Lead for business application projects to work for us supporting our Port of Long Beach (POLB) government client.

This Senior Consultant position requires 15+ years work experience with Business Applications in information technology, staff supervision, project management, vendor management, contract management, license management, and application project delivery and maintenance.

Key responsibilities include providing feedback to team members on project deliverables, and coordinating with vendors and POLB teammates on maintenance of software licenses and vendor contracting agreements. Additional responsibilities may include supervising project managers and business analysts, creating project deliverables and / or providing analysis of business requirements or system design for business applications.

This is a 1+ year contract assignment.

Open to US citizens, green card holders, H1-B visa holders.

Prefer SoCal candidates, minimum of half time each week on site at POLB offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide oversight for projects with broad scope, ambiguity, and high degree of difficulty while also supervising and supporting other business application team members

2. Expert in demonstrating proficiency in a wide range of business application technologies and platforms

3. Understand program structure, launch plan and timing, and program ownership

4. Work with project teams that include POLB teammates and one or more vendor teams in the development of business systems for the Port

5. Monitor project costs and schedules while maintaining quality in deliverables

6. Identify roadblocks/risks.

Required Knowledge and Experience

1. Structured project experience and an understanding of a variety of project and portfolio management methodologies, processes and best practices

2. Experience in managing a variety of enterprise business application projects including cloud implementations and upgrades

3. Experience managing both custom and package software solutions

4. System integration experience with requirements, design, testing and implementation

5. Experience creating business cases

6. Experience creating RFPs and managing vendor and / or software selection process

7. Experience with vendor contract processes

8. Experience with managing software licensing and renewals

9. Proficient in the Microsoft Office product suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Desired Skills, Education, and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, management information systems or equivalent.

2. 15+ years of overall IT and project management experience

3. Experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier and P6, MS CRM, Web Applications and

4. SharePoint is desirable

5. Proven experience in people management, risk management and issue management

6. MBA is desirable; PMP certification is desirable; ITIL certification is desirable
