Valueguard Insurance is an Independent Insurance Agency that is seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate individual for our entry-level Customer Service/Sales Representative position. We pride ourselves in providing the best customer service in our industry and would love to have you join the team!

As this is an entry-level position, experience in the auto-insurance industry is preferred but not required as we will train the right candidate. We don’t expect you to have experience in every detail that the job entails; as this will be a great opportunity to be coached & taught all about the insurance industry.

Technical Skills:

-1 year of work experience ideally in sales and/or phone & computer based customer service

-Computer literacy with Microsoft Windows is required: intermediate typing skills & basic internet navigation skills in web browsers

-Comfortable with applications and software such as: Google Workspace: Drive, Email, Calendar, Docs, & Sheets, as well as Adobe Acrobat: Reader, Editor, & Sign, Desktop Phone Applications, etc.

Interpersonal Skills:

-Possess excellent verbal & written professional communication skills

-Ability to be empathetic, kind, & assertive when the situation calls for it

-Organized, self-motivated, and driven to adapt to and innovate in our existing workflow

-Strong analytical & problem-solving capabilities, as well as the ability to multitask

-Ability to adjust quickly to changing work priorities and conditions

Job Responsibilities:

-Deliver friendly & efficient phone-based customer service with occasional walk-ins

-Establish and develop relationships and follow up with customers & deliver a first class customer service experience

-Stay current in understanding company underwriting guidelines and rules for all carriers

-Manage clients by creating & updating customer profiles & information. Answer incoming calls, screening calls for priority, taking messages for sales reps

-Manage payment processing by reviewing payment schedules with clients, processing payments, setting up auto-pay, or providing online payment options

-Assist with policy retention by reaching out to clients if a payment is past due or if their policy is pending cancellation

-Assist in processing renewals by answering client questions about the renewal process

-Handle all cancellation requests by identifying the problem/reason for cancellation, trying to solve/save the policy, and otherwise processing cancellation requests

-Screen client information by observing changes in circumstance & life events that have occurred that may trigger discounts/rewrites, more/less coverage, or additional policies
