Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and seasoned Low-Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of low-voltage systems, including home automation, AV systems, networking, security, and lighting control. This role requires a strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering top-tier service to our luxury residential clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, including AV, lighting control, networking, security, and surveillance systems.
- Read and interpret system drawings, schematics, and documentation.
- Perform system programming and integration for automation platforms such as Basalte, Lutron HomeWorks, Crestron, and Control4.
- Terminate and test cables, including CAT6, fiber optic, and speaker wiring.
- Conduct system testing and quality assurance to ensure optimal performance.
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure seamless execution of projects.
- Maintain an organized and professional job site, ensuring all installations meet industry standards and company expectations.
- Provide post-installation support, troubleshooting, and customer training.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Low-Voltage Technician in residential or commercial settings.
- Proficiency with home automation systems such as Lutron HomeWorks, Crestron, Control4, or Savant.
- Strong understanding of networking principles, including IP configuration and Wi-Fi distribution.
- Knowledge of audio/video distribution, security systems, and surveillance camera installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Experience with power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CEDIA, CTS, or equivalent) are a plus.
