We are a Southern California-based commercial real estate development firm with a portfolio of 7 shopping centers. A core aspect of our developments includes partnerships with companies like Tesla to bring EV supercharging stations to our centers—enhancing customer traffic and offering food, beverage, and amenity-rich experiences while patrons charge their vehicles.
We are currently seeking a Freelance Leasing Specialist to assist with leasing 3 of the 5 vacant retail units at one of our commercial centers in Long Beach, CA. This center has strong potential but has proven difficult to lease through traditional efforts, and we need someone with the connections, creativity, and hustle to get results.
Note: This is a freelance/contractor role—not an internal hire—and candidates must have direct experience in retail leasing to be considered.
Responsibilities:
Actively market the property and identify qualified local or national tenants.
Conduct outreach to local businesses, franchises, brokers, and retail prospects.
Assist in developing marketing materials or online listings (e.g., LoopNet, Crexi, CoStar, etc.).
Handle tenant inquiries and coordinate tours (virtually or in person with property manager).
Advise on tenant mix strategy and lease incentives based on local market trends.
Provide weekly updates on outreach, leads, and status of each unit.
Qualifications:
Proven experience leasing commercial retail space—preferably in Southern California.
Strong understanding of tenant needs and real estate market dynamics.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Access to tenant lead databases, marketing platforms, or broker networks is a plus.
Ability to work independently and proactively deliver results.

This is a flat-rate based contract
