Summary:

The Construction Project Manager Assistant supports the Project Manager in overseeing and coordinating construction projects. This role involves administrative tasks, ordering materials, communication with clients, tracking project progress, and ensuring smooth operations on-site and in the office. The assistant plays a crucial role in keeping projects organized, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:Project Coordination & Support:

Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities.

Track and order materials for projects.

Consistent line of communication with clients about their projects.

Tracking and maintenance of equipment

Read cad drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements

Administrative & Documentation Tasks:

Maintain project files, contracts, change orders, and reports.

Assist with materials, cost tracking, and invoicing.

Prepare and distribute meeting notes, progress reports, and schedules.

Organize and file blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.

Communication & Client Engagement:

Serve as a point of contact between the Project Manager, contractors, suppliers, and clients.

Schedule meetings, coordinate site visits, and facilitate communication between teams.

Address inquiries from clients, vendors, and team members promptly and professionally.

Procurement & Inventory Management:

Assist in ordering materials and tracking deliveries to ensure timely arrival.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm order accuracy and resolve issues.

Maintain records of material usage and equipment inventory.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: 1+ year in construction, project coordination, or administrative support.

Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management software.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to read blueprints and construction documents (preferred but not required).

Knowledge of construction terminology and processes is a plus.

Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites if necessary.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).

Basic understanding of budgeting and cost control.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Reading CAD drawings

Work Environment:

Combination of office and fieldwork.

May require visits to active construction sites.

Occasional lifting of materials or equipment (< 25 lbs).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
