Our mission is to empower homeless women to achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency by providing them with the tools and resources to improve the quality of their lives.

House of Unity is a startup transitional house that delivers temporary shared room housing, with enhanced services to help people quickly exit to permanent housing. These supportive services are combined with case management services to prepare them for permanent housing.

We are looking to hire an amazing Live in House Manager who can serve our clients with dignity, compassion, and respect in the Palmdale area. We need someone that is okay with living on site everyday, unless vacation or otherwise. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply!

Summary

The House Manager works directly with clients in developing goal plans to meet the clients’ immediate housing needs and referrals to resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct an assessment and help participants develop housing case plan to attain their goals.

Take initiative in problem-solving and addressing issues if conflict arises.

Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records and reports, including leases, ensuring compliance with company obligations.

Assist clients residing in the transitional house with securing permanent housing options and provide follow up supportive services per housing plan for a minimum of three months.

Enter data entry for case notes, and complete move in contract guidelines.

Educate participants on housing rules, equip them with resident roles and responsibilities.

Conduct light cooking, cleaning duties, running small errands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with homeless population with a minimum of (3) years’ experience working in a related field.

Positive, effective, and professional (oral and written) communications and interactions with a wide range of individuals, including in emotionally charged and stressful situations

Proven ability to interact, problem-solve and mediate in a positive and constructive manner, including during emergency and stressful situations.

Ability to successfully prioritize and execute multiple tasks and/or projects, and ability to facilitate group meetings

Flexibility, such as regarding work setting, schedule, responsibilities, clients, and colleagues, and assistance with emergency situations as needed.

Ability to meet Form I-9 requirements, with appropriate supporting documentation of the right to lawfully work in the U.S.

Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation

Current TB test or chest x-ray

Customer Service - Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to client needs; solicit client feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.

Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety house rules, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of client, community partners, and colleagues.
