Urgent Call for Dog Fosters! Help Save Lives with Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue!

We are in desperate need of new fosters to help care for nearly 70 dogs currently in our rescue program. Thousands of dogs across LA and Southern California need homes, and we can't do it without you! Fostering a dog is an incredible way to make a direct impact on saving lives.

What We Need From You:

- Age Requirement: 21+ (or have parent approval if under 21).

- Commitment: Foster until the dog is adopted or commit to at least 4 weeks. Short-term emergency fostering is also highly appreciated!

- Transportation: Reliable access to transport dogs to mandatory adoption events every other Saturday in West Hollywood and vet appointments. (Attendance at West Hollywood Petco adoption events is NON-NEGOTIABLE).

- Experience: Comfort with large breeds and prior dog experience is essential. No small dogs or cats in the home, as we cannot always guarantee a dog’s behavior around them.

- Family & Home Environment: No children under 10 in the home. Other large dogs are fine, but please have landlord/spouse approval before reaching out.

- Immediate Availability: We’re looking for fosters who can start ASAP.

Why Foster?

Fostering a dog is life-changing, not only for the dog but for you too. You’ll be helping rehabilitate dogs who were left to die in shelters, giving them a new lease on life. Our fosters are heroes, making a significant difference in these deserving dogs' lives.

Dogs Needing Fosters NOW:

1. Axel (ASAP)

Axel is a large, active shepherd/lab mix, weighing around 100 lbs. He’s an affectionate, playful dog, especially once he feels comfortable with his people. However, Axel is a bit anxious and can be reactive in high-stress environments (like noisy streets or around screaming children). He needs calm introductions with people—eye contact and direct approaches can make him nervous. Axel has been working with a trainer and does great in the right environment. He’s friendly with other dogs and loves playtime. His ideal foster should be active, experienced with large dogs, and able to provide a calm, structured environment. He just needs the right person to help manage his fears. Support from a trainer will be available to ensure Axel’s success!

2. Jack Jack and Blankets (ASAP)

This bonded pair of American bulldog mixes are about 2 years old. They were found as strays and are extremely fearful of people, likely due to past mistreatment. While they show no aggression, they will withdraw and retreat when scared. Jack Jack is slightly more confident and provides support to Blankets, who follows his lead. They need a patient foster who can give them the time and space they need to adjust. They are dog-selective, so it’s best for them to be the only dogs in the home. They are sweet dogs who will blossom in a quiet, loving environment where they can feel safe. If needed, Jack Jack and Blankets can be fostered in separate homes! If you would like to help but can only take one dog, please still inquire.

3. Ruby and Lucy (October 19-28)

Ruby and Lucy are a bonded pair of shepherd/sharpei mixes. They are wonderful with each other but need to be the only dogs in the home, as they are not friendly with other dogs. They are protective of their home and property, so any introductions to strangers should be done cautiously. They’re housetrained, healthy, and an overall lovely pair once they settle in. These girls are looking for a short-term foster who understands their protective nature and can provide them with a safe, secure home.
