2. No cellphone use during working time. That means no phone calls or texting during working hours.
3. Keep shop swept and clean, empty dust collector bags, keep machine surfaces waxed and machines lubricated.
4. Assist the two skilled woodworkers when asked to help lift, clamp, sand, machine wood surfaces.
5. Be involved in making various wood components and helping assemble furniture when complete.
6. If you have nothing to do during the day, grab a broom and clean the shop.
7. You will be asked to drive the company pick up truck to deliver or pickup materials. Most of your time will be in shop.
8. You MUST have a valid California driver's license with no negatives from the DMV.
9. You MUST have reliable transportation to and from my shop. I would prefer that you live nearby so that you are not fighting traffic everyday. Our hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. We rarely work weekends.
What you can expect in return for performing the above duties:
1. You will learn the proper use of all the machinery in my shop. That includes table saws, chop saws, sliding table saw, planer, jointer, spindle sander, lathe, vertical mill, tracing wood lathe, wide belt sander, cnc mill and all the various hand tools used in fabricating wood furniture. You will learn to read shop drawings and also learn to build from artist renderings when shop drawings are not available.
2. We are a custom shop. Every project is different. Your skills, if you apply yourself, will rapidly progress.
WHEN YOU REPLY TO THIS LISTING, YOU MUST ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS IN YOUR REPLY. IF YOU DO NOT, I WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOUR EMAIL:
1. Tell me about yourself?
2. List five words that describe your character?

5. Tell me about a mistake you have made at work and what you learned?
6. What is your biggest strength?
