MIG Welder

Monday thru Friday – 7am to 4pm
$20 to $23hr depending on experience.
Extremely busy construction company in Pasadena is looking for an experienced MIG Welder to join their team.
Summary: In this position you will be putting together mobile mixers and attaching them to the back of semi-trucks. The ideal applicant has experience MIG welding stainless and carbon steel, as well as experience with TIG welding processes and various grinding tools. You must be able to read blueprints or technical schematics. Strong attention to detail in order to ensure the quality of each weld and the safety of the workplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
MIG welding on carbon and stainless steel
Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
Interpreting specifications and blueprints accurately.
Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
Operating cranes and other machinery to transport materials to welding worksites.
Determining correct gas ratios.
Testing the strength of each join during and after project completion.
Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting as required.
Liaising with the line manager or supervisor, reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Knowledge of both TIG and MIG welding preferred.
High school diploma or similar.
A completed apprenticeship or vocational training.
A relevant certificate from a welding association may be required.
Excellent stamina, strength, and dexterity.
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
Sound understanding of welding safety.
The ability to teach would be advantageous.
A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
