Monday thru Friday – 6:30am to 3:30pm
$20 to $30hr depending on experience
Multiple Fabricator positions available through out the San Fernando Valley.
Summary: The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for reading and understanding assembly instructions, ensuring that the necessary materials are available, and taking precise measurements to ensure perfect alignment of components. They are expected to operate a shear machine to cut metal and use a press brake to bend and form materials to drawing specs. Ensuring safety and structural integrity is a top priority in the welds and metal structures they create.
Responsibilities:
Interpreting blueprints and drawings to determine the specifications and requirements of the task at hand.
Cutting, bending, shaping, and smoothing metal and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Use notch, shear, punch press, and metal bender and brake.
Qualifications:
3+ years' experience with fabrication/press brake and shears.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to read drawings and interpret.
Experience working and measuring different gauges of metal. Mostly use aluminum and sometimes brass.
Know how to accurately measure ID (inside dimension) and OD (outside measurement).
