As a CNC Mill Programmer, you will produce CNC Mills with programs by using CAD/CAM programming programs also set-up and run jobs including zero and reference points and load raw material for use in the CNC Mill. In addition, you will operate equipment to produce precision metal parts using drawings/schematics/blueprints and verbal instruction. You will use necessary measuring and hand tools as needed.
Specific Duties:
CNC Programming of mills.
Validating CNC programs.
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist must be able to do set up, load and run machined parts and complete jobs per print.
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist must be able to problem-solve and edit programs as needed.
LOAD CNC Mills with programs by entering instructions, including zero and reference points
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist must be able to select and use hand tools as required such as mallets, wrenches, pedestal grinders, deburr tools
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist must be able to select and use all necessary inspection and measuring tools as required such as dial calipers, scales, micrometers, height gauges, pin and thread gauges
Preparing raw material for use in CNC Mill
Finding, installing and using fixtures in addition to vises
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist must be able to work from drawings, sketches, or verbal/written instructions.
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist must perform operator level PM as needed such as emptying chips / keeping fluid level at proper amounts / cleaning machines/ vises / fixtures / tools
CNC Mill Set Up Machinist may need to deburr parts as needed
Keep a clean and well organized work area
Team Player helping with raw material movement, work area cleanliness, helping coworkers
Other tasks as directed
Qualifications and Abilities:
High School Diploma, Trade school certificate a plus
3-5 years CNC Programmer Mill
English speaking a MUST
Ability to write in English – Fill out forms such as travelers, logs and part SPC sheets
Ability to ask questions and not assume
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to standing for periods of time
Good hand eye coordination
Use of hand held tools and measuring equipment
Excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
