A growing and profitable manufacturer of aerospace parts in Simi Valley is looking to hire a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic. In this role, you will perform troubleshooting, repair work, and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery, equipment, and instrumentation to ensure the plant continues to operate at highly efficient levels. This involves working on equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fluid handling systems.
Salary:
$25.00-30.00/hr (DOE)
Schedule:
2nd shift 3:30pm - 11pm, occasional extra time needed
Responsibilities:
Perform troubleshooting, repair work, and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery, equipment, and instrumentation to sustain plant operations at highly efficient levels
Document project activities and prepare appropriate operating standards and/or maintenance procedures for all equipment and processes
Complete the documentation process for machinery usage and equipment maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance equipment shop.
Stay familiar with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and processes and relationships with appropriate equipment vendors and suppliers
Keep technical knowledge up-to-date by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED required; Trade or technical certification preferred.
Several years of preventative maintenance experience.
Must have working technical knowledge, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical repair, and PLC.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must coordinate multiple jobs effectively and handle detailed and broad-range projects while meeting deadlines.
Must have experience with software interface tools for Allen Bradley or GE Fanuc, PLCs, and Windows-based software preferred.
Experience repairing and maintaining CNC Mill and Lathe machines is a must.
You will need to have strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision required.
Must be able to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Must be able to remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining the form and texture of parts.
Must adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Must be able to fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Must maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
