Full time – Temp to hire

Two shifts available:

Day shift: Monday thru Friday – 7am to 3:30pm

Night shift: Monday thru Friday – 3pm to 11:30pm

$22hr to $25hr depending on experience.

A manufacturing company providing quick response electronic manufacturing services utilizing world-class manufacturing equipment, practices, and technology for the most respected Original Equipment Manufacturers in, aerospace, telecommunications, military, medical and wireless markets is seeking Automated Optical Inspectors to join their team in Van Nuys.

Summary: Responsible for programming and operating automated optical inspection (AOI) machine for assembled printed circuit boards. Make IPC acceptability decisions during AOI operation. Inspects finished or in-process assemblies and determine acceptance or rejection. Evaluates production parts or modules against standards by reviewing blueprints and schematics, and using measuring tools. Make sure assemblies meet Customer Bill of Material, potential assembly/solder defects and compliance with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and NASA standards as required by specific job.

Responsibilities:

Performing routine set-up, operation, and adjustments.

Operate and monitor AOI equipment to ensure efficient and accurate inspection of electronic components and assemblies.

Inspect electronic components and printed circuit boards (PCBs) using AOI systems to identify defects such as missing components, misaligned parts, soldering defects, and other manufacturing errors.

Document inspection results, including defect types, quantities, and locations, using electronic databases as required.

Analyze inspection results and determine the appropriate course of action, which may include rework, repair, or rejection of defective components or assemblies

Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to relay inspection findings, discuss quality issues, and collaborate on process improvements.

Adhere to QC standards to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry regulations, and company requirements.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, provide feedback on equipment performance, process efficiencies, and quality improvement opportunities.

Ability to work with ERP systems such as Aegis and Epicor.

Support quick-turn on a daily basis.

Perform tasks in such way that align with Vision and Mission Statement.

Adhere to Quality System and Instructions.

Take on additional responsibilities as require.

Read, and interpret assembly drawings, blueprint, and schematic.

Using supplied data, create or modify AOI programs.

Using familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class II and III also to J-Standards, inspect finished articles.

Use high-powered microscope to conduct 1st and 2nd article inspections.

Qualification:

Intermediate English reading and writing skills.

Ability to use PCs and common software packages like Microsoft Office.

Ability to read, and interpret assembly drawings, blueprint, and schematic.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed to support production.

Ability to follow work instruction.

Detail oriented with a positive energy to make things work.
