Platon Graphics, a large format digital print shop, is seeking an experienced pre-press operator. The Pre-Press Operator is responsible for processing customer supplied files and preparing them for output. Responsibilities include troubleshooting files, artwork manipulation, color correction, and generating proofs.
The Pre-Press Operator must be a detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated individual, who genuinely cares about what they do. A good sense of humor, a resourceful mindset, and the ability to multi-task are also essential.

Responsibilities:
- Create PDF proofs for client review.
- Reading and following job ticket instructions.
- Troubleshoot customer supplied files for potential issues.
- Provide image retouching, clipping paths, and additional image manipulation when needed.
- Package and preflight files for release to printers.
- Send finalized prints to the appropriate printer utilizing RIP software.
- Resolve any artwork issues that arise during production.
- Troubleshoot problems with the creative team and the press operators.
- Manage time to ensure tasks are being completed by the target date.
- Keep up to date with new production techniques, trends, and technologies.
- Ability to work occasional overtime when needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Two (2) years experience as a pre-press operator in large format printing.
- Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and RIP software.
- Familiarity with MacOS and PC platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of large format printing equipment, finishing processes, and materials.
- Excellent math skills, with the ability to read and take accurate measurements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be a team player.
