Statewide Workers' Compensation Defense firm is seeking a Full Time Legal Assistant for a position in one of their Southern California Offices which has an immediate opening.
Legal Assistant Job Summary:
-Maintains a close professional relationship with attorneys and manages their day-to-day activities;
-Provides administrative and clerical support to one or more attorneys;
-Prepares correspondence and simple to moderately complex legal documents;
-Schedules medical appointments;
-Proofreads documents for spelling and grammar;
-Organizes and maintains files;
-Screens telephone calls and visitors;
-Reads and responds to mail
-Must be computer savvy
-Must have excellent communication skills
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environment
-Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Skills & Experience Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent;
-Although workers' compensation experience is ideal, training will be provided for those without experience;
-Strong written and oral communication;
-Highly organized;
-MS Word proficiency;
-Ability to type 50 words per minute;
-Demonstrable ability to maintain confidentiality;
-Familiarity with Merus is a plus;
-The position is fully remote;
-Knowledge of EAMS and EAMS filing is preferred
