Trust and probate law firm seeking full-time paralegal/legal assistant. Our long-time employee of more than 20 years has retired. So this is an opportunity for someone to continue their career in a small law firm environment, with plenty of opportunity for responsibility and client relationships, as our clients often view our paralegal as a critical contact for them at the firm.
The ideal candidate would be accomplished in all facets of document organization and review, both paper and electronic; and communication with clients, courts and outside vendors. Must have excellent communication, organization, and computer skills to assist with correspondence, scheduling, filing, mailings, and managing attorney calendar. As the first line of contact for client and potential client questions, good skills with people is a must.
EXPERIENCE:· Minimum 2 years trust and probate experience.· Excellent word processing skills. Familiarity with state court rules.· Familiarity with Judicial Council forms.· Experience with e-filing in state courts.· High level of expertise with Word, Adobe Pro, Excel, and Google Calendar. Knowledge of Clio Manage, Clio Draft, Clio Grow and Wealthcounsel a plus. As we practice in all California Counties, the job requires working with each County’s probate case information and probate note systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:· Support attorneys in all aspects of the practice: produce first drafts of documents, file petitions and pleadings, calendar court hearings.· Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Notary preferred, firm will pay notary costs if candidate becomes a Notary Public.
