We are looking for a full-time Legal Secretary who enjoys working with people and is self-motivated to ensure efficient office management and effective case handling. You will assist with a broad range of legal services under the supervision of an attorney. The ideal candidate has some Legal Secretary experience. Bonus for experience with the firm’s specialties of Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, and Conservatorships.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to lawyers and paralegals to enhance office effectiveness
Answer and direct phone calls as receptionist backup
Handle communication with clients, visitors, etc.
Conduct research, when requested
Locate case-relevant information
Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
Maintain contact lists
Monitor deadlines and coordinate calendars
Process incoming and outgoing mail
Skills
Proven working experience as Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary a plus
Familiarity with CA law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system a plus
Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
Computer literacy
Proficiency in English
Ability to learn new software
Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
Ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities and timely complete assignments
Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary certification or diploma not required, but having is a plus
