Paralegal (Full-Time) – Small Civil Litigation Law Firm

Our small but dynamic litigation law firm is seeking a full-time Paralegal to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of civil litigation. You will work closely with attorneys on active cases and play a key role in keeping our legal practice running smoothly. Job Duties:

Client Communication: Answer and direct phone calls, and serve as a courteous point of contact for clients and external parties.

Case File Management: Organize, update, and maintain case files and legal documents (both electronic and paper) to ensure information is easily accessible.

Court Filings: Prepare and file court documents such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas with accuracy and in compliance with court deadlines and procedures.

Litigation Support: Assist attorneys in all phases of civil litigation – from initial case preparation and discovery to trial support – including coordinating schedules, managing calendars, and helping prepare exhibits and trial binders.

Administrative Duties: Handle general administrative tasks related to litigation (scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, data entry, copying/scanning, and other office support tasks) to facilitate smooth daily operations.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm is preferred but not required. We provide training for motivated candidates.

Education: A bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or recent law school graduate. (Recent J.D. graduates awaiting bar results are welcome to apply.)

Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English is preferred but not required

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional phone manner.

Organization: Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple case files and deadlines effectively.

Technical: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal research tools or court e-filing systems is a plus.

Other Qualities: Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.

Work Schedule: This position is a full-time position.
