Position Overview:
A reputable civil litigation law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced attorney to draft an Appellate Brief for a Bankruptcy Court Adversary Proceeding, which was recently resolved through a Motion for Summary Judgment. This is an urgent contract position that must be filled immediately. The candidate will have experience in drafting pleadings and appellate briefs for Federal Court proceedings.
Responsibilities:
Draft the appellate brief for an appeal stemming from a Bankruptcy Court Adversary Proceeding.
Review case files, motions, and legal arguments to prepare a strong and compelling appeal.
Work closely with the firm's legal team to ensure all required documentation is accurate and thorough.
Research relevant legal precedents and provide advice on appeal strategies.
Prepare pleadings in compliance with Federal Court rules and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Must be a licensed attorney in the State of California, in good standing.
Extensive experience in drafting Federal Court pleadings and appellate briefs.
Familiarity with bankruptcy law and bankruptcy court procedures is highly preferred.
Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
