OVERVIEW
Justice Michelle Kim of the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, located in Los Angeles, is accepting applications for a research attorney.
A research attorney works collaboratively with the justice in the preparation of opinions in all areas of appellate law including civil, criminal and juvenile. This is an intellectually challenging position with significant responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewing appellate briefs and trial court records;
Researching and analyzing existing law;
Drafting opinions and performing other tasks as necessary.
You must have mature and sound judgment.
Desirable Qualifications
State or federal clerking experience, broad and practical knowledge of the law, and familiarity with appellate practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Level D: Active membership in the State Bar of California and the equivalent of four
years of post-bar legal experience in a legal setting such as a private law practice,
corporation, government agency, law school, court, or legal publishing company.
OR
One year of experience as an appellate attorney, Level C, with the judicial branch.

SALARY
Level D: $10,234 to $13,659 per month
(Starting salary will vary between $10,234 to $11,257 per month)
