Our small property management firm services 115 apartments in five cities. We are seeking a part-time SKILLED and EXPERIENCED APARTMENT maintenance technician. EXPERIENCE with apartments is MANDATORY. This job includes maintaining our tenants' apartments in good working condition and helping us turn apartments when they empty or are renovated.
Hard skills include: ability to fix minor plumbing issues; install plumbing fixtures (toilets, sinks, faucets); address basic electrical needs (install lighting fixtures, fix broken range hoods, install new outlets); install drywall as replacement or for new walls; install baseboard; install wood framing for walls and doors; paint; shave doors/cabinets/wood windows to make them close easier; caulk around sinks and tubs; replace locks; fix thresholds; install doors; install new appliances (ranges, built-in microwaves, AC units, disposals); fix broken appliances; install new closet shelving and poles, etc.
Additional skills a plus but not required: tiling, wood floor installation, etc.
Soft skills: good customer service, follow through, timeliness and making deadlines, integrity, work ethic, and cleaning up after work is complete.
Must have own truck and tools, work independently from work orders, and provide ongoing updates on job status/completion of work orders. Ability to speak English and communicate well and text/send images via cell phone are key. We use AppFolio apartment management software; helpful if you know or will use this for work orders.
