The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, ensuring they are properly sanitized. This role requires the safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, as well as the proficient operation of equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers), where applicable. Associates must be able to work in extreme cold and fast-paced environments on a regular basis. This position is considered SAFETY SENSITIVE.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) and floor cleaning equipment (if applicable).
Perform sanitation duties on a scheduled basis (daily, weekly, and monthly).
Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, receiving/loading docks, refrigerated and frozen storage areas, walls, lights, ceilings, roll-up doors, and other assigned areas.
Follow a rotating schedule for deep cleaning of pallet slots.
Clean the exterior of the warehouse, walkways, stairs, docks, and dock door exteriors.
Collect and dispose of trash around the warehouse perimeter.
Perform daily cleaning and trash removal in administrative offices, work areas, and break rooms.
Stock and clean all restrooms.
Maintain and update sanitation records on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Properly dispose of trash and recycle whenever possible.
Notify supervisors of any repairs needed or supplies to be ordered.
Mix, use, and store cleaning chemicals safely according to instructions, and wear personal protective equipment as required.
Maintain an organized chemical storage area.
Follow all company, food safety, and food security policies.
Prevent cross-contamination (e.g., raw/uncooked vs. ready-to-eat, allergen control, broken glass, etc.).
Adapt to modified schedules as needed to meet business requirements.
Observe safety and security protocols, report unsafe conditions, and report any injuries/accidents immediately.
Demonstrate safe behavior at all times, particularly when operating company equipment or vehicles.
Sanitation positions are held to high standards, as reflected in performance evaluations, and may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be willing to work in all conditions (freezer, cooler, dry, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous janitorial or warehouse experience is a plus.
Pallet handling experience is a plus.
Ability to follow instructions, pay attention to detail, complete tasks independently, and be self-motivated.
Excellent attendance record.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
