Job Summary:
The Food Service Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all food service equipment and systems. This role ensures that all equipment is in good working condition, adheres to safety standards, and supports the smooth operation of our food service facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on kitchen appliances, refrigeration units, ovens, dishwashers, and other food service equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions to determine the best course of action.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become significant problems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with the food service team to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, including food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and provide user training as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in food service equipment technology.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred but not required.
- Candidates must be able to successfully complete any required background checks or verification processes relevant to the Temp to Hire / Direct Hire position.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a food service or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
