Job Description:

The Diesel Mechanic position at Mid Lane Carriers, Inc. (MLC) requires candidates to have a minimum of four years of experience in the industry. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who demonstrates reliability, efficiency, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and collaborate as part of a team.

Diesel/Chassis Mechanic Qualifications / Skills:

Diesel repairs

Maintenance/repairs on , trailers and trucks

Welding, electrical, brakes, tires, air lines

Driver's License (Required)

Knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms

Good analytical and problem-solving skills to find the source of problems / malfunctions and rectify the issues.

B.I.T. inspections on chassis

Maintenance/repairs on containers, trailers, chassis

Overall knowledge of repairs and tools

Responsibilities:

Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

Diagnoses, examines, and investigates vehicles to determine causes of defective operation of vehicle systems and components.

Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition

Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.

Communicate and greet drivers and staff in a professional, friendly manner, encouraging drivers to be safe out on the road.

Dependable, strong work ethic and willingness to work

Develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with employees, managers, and representatives from other department

Maintenance/repairs on containers, trailers, chassis

Properly maintain documents/repair history

Help with yard duties and other duties assigned

Experience operating a top handler/top loader highly desirable

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

ASE certification preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must be able to visually inspect machines

Must be able to continuously walk and stand for long periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
