ROLE SUMMARY:

The Custodian is responsible for keeping our facility operations safe, clean and well-functioning, all while remaining in compliance with industry, local, state and federal regulations. At its core, this position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of our production warehouse, break room, and outdoor areas. Additional assignments related to maintenance, repairing, and general labor assembling will occasionally be required.

WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT:

Preserving the condition of the infrastructure of the company leased facilities to the highest level possible

Ensuring facilities are safe, clean, and well-functioning

WHAT YOU'VE DONE :

High school degree required

1-2 years' experience as facilities assistant, custodian, or similar position

Basic understanding of warehouse and/or manufacturing systems

COMPETENCIES:

Steadfast attention to detail with a commitment to precision in the facility environment

Self-starter with the ability to work independently without supervision

Organized, detail oriented and punctual

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Capable of reading and understanding installment manuals and documents

Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES):

Clean and supply designated indoor and outdoor areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restrooms, and etc.)

Gather and empty trash in assigned buildings 2x a day and dispose into compactors and/or dumpsters

Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities

Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repair

Stock and maintain supply rooms, breakroom, and other areas as needed

Maintain adequate inventory of critical items and order items as necessary

Follow Standard Operating Procedures and instructions for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery

Participate in any safety training as required

Identify and communicate to Facilities Manager and Operations Manager ways to enhance efficiency without sacrificing cleanliness and safety

Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols

Manage the upkeep of facilities to meet health and safety standards

Collaborate with Facilities Manager and Operations Manager to ensure facility compliance with state, federal, local and industry specific regulations

Perform additional responsibilities as needed

Available to work a flexible schedule including unanticipated overtime

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Good vision, hearing and speech

Able to bend, twist, turn, reach, grasp

Able to stand/walk for long periods up to 10 hours a day

Experience driving a forklift a plus
