Mike Diamond, a family-owned established business, offering plumbing, HVAC and Electrical services to the Southern California public is currently hiring for a Human Resources Recruiter www.mikediamondservices.com. The Human Resources Onsite Recruiter (HRR) will be responsible for developing HR strategies, perform a wide variety of HR tasks, including those related to compensation, benefits, and contract negotiations. The HR recruiter must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR and full cycle recruitment. From identifying potential hires to interviewing and evaluating candidates.

HR Recruiter responsibilities include sourcing candidates online, updating job ads and conducting background checks. If you have experience with various job interview formats, including phone screenings and group interviews, and can help us recruit faster and more effectively, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will play an important part in building a strong employer brand for our company to ensure we attract, hire, and retain the most qualified employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to define job requirements, develop recruiting strategies and fill open positions.

Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to attract qualified skilled trade professionals. Leverage sourcing options such as job boards, social media, trade schools, including job fairs, networking events and community outreach programs.

Collaborate, establish, and build relationships with trade schools, industry associations, and other potential sources of qualified candidates.

Work closely with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and preferences. Provide regular updates and feedback throughout the recruitment process.

Coordinate interview schedule with candidates and hiring managers. Prepare candidates for interviews, providing them with detailed information about the job and company.

Extend job offers to selected candidates, negotiate salary and benefits and address questions to ensure a smooth onboarding process.

Conduct market research on trends and developments in the skilled trades sector, including compensation, industry challenges, and emerging skill requirements.

Ensure compliance with recruitment activities comply with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and organized documentation on candidates, searches, hiring manager interactions, and other recruitment activities.

Manage candidate pipelines and maintain accurate records in our applicant tracking system.

Perform morning check-ins, track attendance and performance coaching as needed.

Maintain aggressive hiring metrics to help managers maintain required staffing levels.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required.

High School Diploma or GED required.

One - three years of proven experience as an HR manager or Recruiter in the skilled trades or related area, helpful. (Retail, home services, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Solar, Auto-mechanic, construction).

Strong understanding of recruitment best practices and employment laws and the specific skills, certifications needed for each position.

Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse candidates.

Proficient in using recruitment software, Human resource management system, and applicant tracking software, Google workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.

Job type: Full Time

Pay: $52,000 - $66,560 per year depending on experience. (Bonus compensation TBD after a year of employment)
