Pay Rate: $16.04– $18.00 per hour. D.O.E
Staff needed in La Puente, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
We are seeking highly motivated, dedicated and experienced individuals to work, guide, and support persons with intellectual disabilities such as Mild to Severe MR; Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Mental Diagnoses, and/or any developmental disorder.
Must be willing to deal and work with individuals with intense and challenging behaviors
Summary of duties and responsibilities: The Personal Attendant reports directly to the SLS Supervisor/Director and is responsible for the daily care of adults with developmental disabilities.
Duties include but not limited to the following:
Feeding
Dressing
Bathing & Assisting with Hygiene, Scheduling of Medical Appointments, Assisting with Meal Preparation, Money Management, Shopping for groceries or other personal Items, assisting with the use of a telephone, Supervise clients while on various outings
Ability to lift, push, carry up to 75 pounds or more. Transferring/lifting of the client to and from chair, bed, car, toilet, bathing, etc. without limitations.
Perform housework when such activities are related to the supported living of the person and cannot be performed by him or herself alone due to a health, disability or age limitation.
Participate in the development of the individual program plan (IPP) and/or individual service plan (ISP) and/or individual educational plan (IEP).
Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment
Ensure that the client receives professional, quality services in a safe and meaningful manner.
Teach clients how to increase their activities of daily living at home or in the community.
Flexibility Required. Must be available to Work Monday - Friday, weekends and in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. Schedules vary and potential candidates must have an open availability.
ALL APPLICANTS MUST:
Pass a background check and TB test
Possess valid California Driver's license and provide a current driving record issued by the DMV
Provide current CA Vehicle registration and insurance
Be willing to get certified in CPR/First Aid upon or prior to hiring- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 75 lbs.
Provide High School Diploma and/or other qualifying certificates
Be flexible to work in all locations and if required, be available to work on weekends, evenings, and split shifts
Must be able to communicate, English (verbal and written)
Must have good problem solving skills and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
Must be over 18 years of age and
Experience with DEVELOPMENTAL and MENTAL HEALTH disabilities preferred
