Job Description:

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our dental practice. You will assist the dentist during various treatment procedures and ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of dental care. Your responsibilities will include preparing and sterilizing instruments, taking digital X-rays, assisting with dental procedures such as crown preparations, implants, orthodontics, and laser treatments, and fabricating temporary crowns. You will also be involved in patient assessments and education, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the dentist during a diverse range of treatment procedures.

- Set up and sterilize dental equipment and instruments.

- Take and process digital dental X-rays.

- Assist in polishing teeth post-cleaning and contribute to whitening procedures.

- Fabricate temporary crowns during treatment sessions.

- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.

- Conduct patient assessments, including recording vital signs.

- Provide post-treatment oral care instructions to patients.

- Adhere to all safety and infection control standards, including HIPAA compliance.

Required Skills:

- Proficiency in reading and writing.

- Experience with Open Dental software or similar dental practice management software is preferred.

- A thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.

- Strong skills in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring.

- Ability to assist efficiently in various dental treatments.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is highly desirable.

- Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting is preferred, but not mandatory.

- Front office skills are advantageous, though training is available for the right candidate.
