Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Duties:

- Prepare treatment rooms for patients by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort

- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed by the dentist

- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns

- Provide post-operative instructions to patients and schedule follow-up appointments

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans

- Adhere to all infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy

Skills:

- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting, instrument passing, and four-handed dentistry

- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment

- Familiarity with dental software systems (e.g., Eaglesoft) for scheduling appointments and managing patient records

- Ability to take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.) and record them in patient charts

- Experience with medical imaging techniques, such as digital radiography or CAD/CAM systems

- Understanding of medical coding for insurance billing purposes

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred

- Current certification in dental radiography (X-ray certification)

- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages

- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
