Position Summary
Pediatric clinical social work focuses on providing support and advocacy for children and families within
healthcare settings. These professionals help patients and families cope with the social, emotional, and practical
challenges associated with illness, disability, or other life stressors. They work as part of an interdisciplinary
team to ensure comprehensive care and connect families with necessary resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing emotional and psychological support to children and their families.
Assessing the social, emotional, and environmental needs of patients.
Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
Coordinating with medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Offering crisis intervention and counseling services.
Advocating for the needs and rights of children within medical settings.
Qualifications
Minium of 1 year experience with adults and children
Previous experience supervising MSWs and/or ASWs, preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
Play Therapy Certification preferred but not required.
Experience in non-profit or healthcare sectors is a plus but not required
Education: Master’s degree in behavioral health required and/or Professional Licensure by the California
Behavioral Science Board.
