Transitional Characters (TC) is a justice-focused group practice in Pittsburgh, PA and Pasadena, CA, committed to anti-racist praxis and self-actualization. As a Black woman-owned practice, we offer psychotherapy using evidence-based and ancestral therapeutic interventions, aiming to create a better world for all. We specialize in various therapeutic modalities, including Liberation Psychology, Somatic Abolitionism, ACT, EMDR, and more.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Licensed Professional Counselor at Transitional Characters. The role involves providing psychotherapy to adults, teens, couples, groups, and families. While the position is primarily based in Pasadena, CA, there is flexibility for remote work from anywhere.
Qualifications
Experience in psychotherapy using evidence-based interventions
Knowledge of therapeutic modalities such as ACT, EMDR, and Somatic healing
Interest in and understanding of Liberation Psychology and Somatic Abolitionism
Skills in cognitive-behavioral therapy and humanistic approaches
Ability to work with diverse client populations and issues
Excellent communication and empathy
Licensure as a Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania or California
Experience with experiential therapy and interest in Psychedelics therapy is a plus
