We are seeking a compassionate and responsible caretaker to provide assistance and companionship to our Mom Pat, age 81, who lives at the Watermark in Westwood Village. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing the level of care needed for someone in the early stages of Dementia ensuring her safety and well-being at all times. Must have a car, current CA driver's license, be willing to drive to any and all appointments, and submit a Background Check.
Responsibilities:
-Driving Pat to and from appointments (eye doctor, primary care, podiatrist, Bridge group, Church, etc.)
-Coordinating her schedule, reminding her about everything as needed, and keeping her calendar of appointments
-Assisting with daily activities such as personal hygiene, including help with toileting as needed (helping her change her Depends 3x per day), laundry, and light housekeeping
-Providing companionship and emotional support through conversation, activities, and outings
-Monitoring and addressing any health concerns or changes in the client's condition
-Accompanying the client to medical appointments and other necessary outings
-Ensuring a clean and comfortable living environment for the client
-Communicating effectively with family members and healthcare professionals as needed
Qualifications:
-Prior experience in caregiving, preferably with elderly individuals
-Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being of others
-Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
-Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
