I am an active 64-year-old man with Cerebral Palsy living in the city of Claremont. I am paralyzed from the chest down and in need of 24-hour care. My speech is a bit impaired, but it doesn’t stop me from being active within the community.
JOB HOURS:
Sunday – 7a-7p
In addition, I need on-call assistance (if you’re available).
The job includes: dressing/undressing me, grooming/hygiene, transferring me in and out of my wheelchair, meal preparation, feeding me, assisting me with phone calls, paperwork, correspondence and my television and iPad, emptying urine bag, housekeeping, driving me (In my van) on errands and various outings, and assisting me with bowel movements and turning me in my bed (overnight shift).
Ideal applicants should
be vaccinated (COVID-19).
have experience and/or training in care-giving (or be willing to learn).
be clean and organized.
Be able to cook (follow recipes and be comfortable in the kitchen).
Must have a valid driver’s license, and be able to drive a van (including on freeways).
be patient and understanding and upbeat.
be lgbtq-friendly
have reliable transportation.
be okay with cats.
This job isn’t private pay, is funded by In-Home Supportive Services and the Regional Center. Two background checks/livescans are required. Training will be provided.
