Seeking: Production and Operations Coordinator for Postpartum Soup Startup (Part-Time with room for growth)

-Starting in Fullerton, Orange County, moving to Los Angeles Spring 2026 | Small Food Business

-Support postpartum women through nourishing food made with care

We’re a small but growing food company focused on Japanese-style postpartum soups — handcrafted, healing, and made with intention. We’re looking for a Operations Coordinator to assist our Main Chef in soup production in our licensed commercial kitchen, and also handle inventory, fulfillment and delivery of our products to our lovely customers! We may also need ad-hoc assistance with all different matters for events, photoshoots and other startup activities, so we would like someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, frequently wearing multiple hats and thriving in a hands-on, dynamic setting.

If you’re experienced in the kitchen, with inventory, fulfillment and/or delivery, and passionate about supporting new mothers and families, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Overview

Prepare and cook soups according to recipes (training by our lead trainer, and supervised by main chef just for this portion of your tasks)

Package, label, and store soups following food safety guidelines (HACCP, SSOP)

Manage ingredients and materials inventory

Order or procure ingredients to ensure production is on schedule

Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety documentation

Manage inventory of finished product including quality checks and expiration date.

Order fulfillment: assemble cooler boxes or insulated packaging, pack soup products for safe and temperature-compliant transport.

Communicate with internal team and clients to ensure delivery environments are suitable for cold-chain handling.

Use a personal vehicle to deliver customer orders across Orange County and Los Angeles County.

Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maintain product quality and minimize delivery time.

Assist the Project Manager (located in Japan) with operational tasks related to sourcing, manufacturing, and fulfillment logistics

Assist team during events, photoshoots, etc. on an adhoc basis

Schedule (Part-Time, with room to grow):

Two patterns, likely to grow with business from pattern A to B

Pattern A – 2-4 half to full hours for production and fulfillment weekly or bi-weekly

Pattern B – 4-5 consecutive production days every 1–2 months (may grow to 2–3 weeks) + weekly full fullfillment day

Flexible prep and sourcing hours 1–3 days before each production cycle

Requirements

-Valid Food Handlers Permit (or willing to obtain)

-Comfortable lifting pots, ingredients, and packaging

-Strong understanding of food safety procedures

-Able to commute to our kitchen in Fullerton, and then Central Los Angeles Spring 2026

-Reliable personal vehicle for delivery of product to local customers

-English required; Japanese a plus (to communicate with trainer)

-Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized

-Enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment, frequently wearing multiple hats and thriving in a hands-on, dynamic setting

Preferred (but not required):

Experience in commercial kitchen/CPG production and/or inventory management/fulfillment/delivery

Familiarity with HACCP, SSOP standards

Passion for postpartum nutrition and supporting new moms
