Position Overview:
The Los Angeles Tennis Club is seeking an attentive and pleasant-mannered Server to uplift the dining experience for members and guests. To be a successful part of the F&B team, you should have a strong work ethic, communicate effectively, and adapt swiftly in a fast-paced environment. As a Server, you will strive to provide a positive experience for our members dining at the Grill, and during private member and Club-wide events.
Schedules are subject to modification based on business volume and demand.
THIS IN A NON-TIPPING POSITION.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Host duties: greet and seat members, learn member’s names.
2. Menu knowledge: Learn all key ingredients, methods of preparation, allowed modifications, allergens, menu upcharges, etc. Ability to answer questions, make recommendations, take accurate food orders, and clearly communicate modifications to the BOH.
3. Beverage knowledge: Learn all LATC bar menu offerings in addition to standard beer/wine/spirits knowledge. Make recommendations and take accurate beverage orders.
4. Service setup: Set tables up with linens and other table settings, assist BOH with buffet setups, prepare supplies for the server station. Assist House & Grounds department with moving light furniture in preparation for events.
5. Dining service: Clear, bus, and reset tables. Provide excellent customer service and attentive service.
6. Table maintenance: clear tables, serve drink orders, reset silverware, refill water, etc. throughout the meal.

Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a server, busser, and food runner.
Availability to work Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays.
Valid CA Food Handler’s and ABC Responsible Beverage Service certificates.
Excellent presentation skills.
Active listening and effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks, indoors and outdoors, such as walking, climbing stairs, reaching above, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting at the neck and waist, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
Occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.
