Ise-Shima Restaurant is looking for a skilled sushi cook to work at our elegant sushi bar. Please see the job description below.

The Cook sets up and organizes the assigned work station with raw ingredients and equipment appropriate for preparing menu items for the designated meal period. He/she also prepares menu items according to standardized specifications for designated meal periods in a timely manner. In addition, the Sushi cook breaks down, cleans and stores all raw ingredients and equipment used for the assigned work station at the conclusion of the meal period.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Obtains all raw ingredients required to produce menu items from appropriate areas prior

to the meal period.

Ensures that all equipment necessary to produce menu items are available and in working order.

Prepares menu items as requested according to menu specifications in a timely manner.

Ensures that all menu items are presented on clean plates in an appetizing manner.

Makes sure that, at the end of the shift, the work station is broken down, leaving it tidy and clean, ready for the next work shift.

Stores remaining raw ingredients at the shift in covered containers in the appropriate refrigerated area.

Follows all health, safety and restaurant rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Assists the Executive Chef in other matters as requested.

Maintains current knowledge of Restaurant Safety and Evacuation Plan.

Supports and implements Ise-Shima Restaurant Superior Unique Guest Service Standards.

Understands and follows Local Department Standard Operating Procedures.

Cooperates and works together with the kitchen.

Reports to station, ready to work at the time tour of duty is scheduled to begin.

Knows and understands the hotel policy that regular attendance and punctuality is expected of all employees.

Follows all health, safety and hotel rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Attends monthly meetings as required.

Promotes teamwork within department and among all Restaurant staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None are required.
