Position Overview: As the Kitchen Lead at Blueys, you will play a vital role in the culinary team. You will work closely with the General Manager and Company Executive Chef and any other parties defined by ownership to oversee kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes to our valued guests according to brand standards and expectations. Additionally, you will directly manage inventory, aid in controlling costs as it relates to product and labor, along with providing guidance and support to maintain smooth operations. This position requires strong culinary skills, communication skills, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Culinary Excellence:
-Collaborate with the General Manager and company executive chef to maintain the restaurant's menu, ensuring it reflects Blueys concept and meets customer expectations.
-Execute and supervise food preparation, ensuring all dishes are prepared with precision and in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
-Continuously monitor and maintain the presentation, taste, and consistency of all menu items.
Team Management and Training:
-Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the kitchen team.
-Assist in recruiting, training, and developing kitchen staff, ensuring they possess the necessary culinary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
-Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among kitchen staff.
Kitchen Operations:
-Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food production, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
-Collaborate with the General Manager and Executive Chef to optimize kitchen workflow, streamline processes, and improve efficiency.
-Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
-Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients, minimizing waste and maximizing freshness.
Quality Control:
-Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all dishes meet Blueys high standards of taste, presentation, and portioning.
-Monitor and maintain food costs by effectively controlling portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing ingredient usage.
Work closely with the General Manager and company Executive Chef to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance overall kitchen operations.
Secondary Functions:
Assisting in other areas as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience of 1+ years as a Kitchen Lead or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of both prep and line cook techniques.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
