Job duties include simple cooking, prep, making drinks, sandwiches, breakfast items (burrito, sandwiches, etc), waffles, salad and more, Must be able to maintain overall cleanliness. MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH MAKING BREAKFAST AND LUNCH ITEMS.
The Back of House (BOH) Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with menu standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring food safety protocols are followed. This role plays a crucial part in supporting kitchen operations and delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items following recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards.
Kitchen Operations: Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens, and other appliances.
Quality Control: Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, accuracy, and high quality.
Food Safety: Adhere to food handling and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including daily cleaning of cooking stations and equipment.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service.
Inventory Management: Assist with inventory checks, reporting shortages, and properly storing deliveries.
Problem Solving: Address kitchen challenges, such as equipment issues or order delays, efficiently and professionally.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar role in a high-paced kitchen environment.
Proficient in cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a hot, noisy kitchen environment.
