Petitgrain Boulangerie is a small, independently owned bakery in Santa Monica focusing on classic French and Mexican pastries made with a minimum of 20% CA grown and milled grains, filled, studded and garnished with produce from the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
POSITION
MORNING BAKER $23/hr + tips
3:30AM-NOON WED-SUNDAY
Our busy little bakery is hiring a morning baker to start asap. This position may be responsible for:
- shaping a variety of croissants
- keeping a watchful eye on proofing and timing of breads and croissants
- baking off a variety of baked goods for a duration of several hours
- garnishing, cutting and displaying finished products
- scaling ingredients for said items as well as sourdough, croissants and breads.
- cleaning their area and dishes and practicing FIFO as well as closing duties such as sanitizing, sweeping and mopping.
- we are a small shop, so duties may include working with customers, ringing up orders, packaging and answering calls.
Bakers must be able to stand for long periods of time and often lift 50 lb. bags. Bakers must take received shipments of ingredients, such as flours and sugar and fill bins accordingly. This position may require more duties as the business expands.
Experience:
Must have at least one year of working with breads, laminated doughs and bake off, two professional references and a valid Food Handler’s Card.
