Lead Bartender - Bel-Air Bay Club

The Lead Bartender is responsible for leading Bel-Air Bay Club’s Upper Club bar operations and staff in all areas of bar maintenance, operations and services. The Lead will supervise the beverage staff, bar operations, consumption, cleanliness, set-up and breakdown before and after events. Key responsibilities include conducting beverage inventory, ensuring bar is stocked with supplies, alcohol, condiments, and other necessary items to run efficiently. The ideal candidate will mentor and lead a small team and delegate tasks as required, prior to, during and after each event. The Lead will also be the primary Bartender, taking drink orders from patrons and preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance to legal standards and procedures. Knowing how to create innovative cocktails is an asset. Bel-Air Bay Club welcomes qualified applicants with experience in a similar setting to apply!

Essential functions

Provide guests with the highest standard of hospitality.

Educating guests with beverage menu available at the bar.

Ensuring customers are served according to alcohol and beverage standards.

Upholding team to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards.

Arrange bar glassware and bottles at the highest aesthetic standards.

Controlling transfers and stock inventory.

Understanding mixology and creating promotional drinks.

Suggestive selling of beverages.

Check customers I.D.

Follow all health and safety regulations.

Control and limit wastage.

Assist with all reasonable bar back duties as required.

Maintain Bar and area clean.

Follow all rotation procedures to ensure freshness and quality.

Any other reasonable requests given by Managers.

Qualifications

Exceptional culture skills.

Previous bartending and leadership experience.

Current Alcohol Awareness Training

High school education.

High level of professionalism.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills (people skills).

Strong multitasking skills.

Calm and collected under pressure.

Physical demands and work environment

Able to stand for long hours, bending, lifting and reaching over.

Ability to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear.

Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.

Environmental Factors

The team member is exposed to working around food and beverage equipment and cleaning chemicals and degreasers.

The team member may be exposed to outdoor elements for long periods of time.

Work Hours: This position is a part-time hourly position with varied shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
