Front of House Shift Lead Position
Job Overview:
The shift lead position plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service during your shifts. You will lead and support the front-of-house team, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders, to deliver a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Supervision:
- Supervise front-of-house staff during assigned shifts, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to team members, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and jumping in the front lines whatever and whichever position needed.
2. Guest Service and Satisfaction:
- Monitor guest satisfaction levels and address any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
- Assist front-of-house staff in providing exceptional service, including greeting guests, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages.
- Ensure that guests receive prompt and courteous attention throughout their dining experience.
3. Operational Efficiency:
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of food and beverages.
- Oversee the seating of guests and manage table rotations to optimize seating capacity and minimize wait times.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling, reconciliation, and ensuring cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
4. Training and Development:
- Train new front-of-house staff on company policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to enhance their performance and professional growth.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development among front-of-house staff.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among front-of-house staff, promoting teamwork and mutual respect.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and other team members to ensure seamless coordination and execution of service.
- Assist in resolving conflicts or issues that may arise among team members, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Supervisory experience- 1-2 years managing teams of 12 - 15 team members during the shift.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including POS systems and restaurant procedures.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant for extended periods.
- Lift and carry trays of food and beverages weighing up to [insert weight] pounds.
- Bend, stoop, and reach to perform cleaning and stocking duties.
